Celebrating its second edition, ArtTalks Theatre Lab is a theatre laboratory that provides emerging theatre artists with the tools to create and self-manage their own projects, so that they can connect and find their place in the current market of producers in the city of Miami. ArtTalks is a project centered on the collaboration that occurs between young and emerging Hispanic artists and their established and professional counterparts who are actively working in the industry as Hispanic actors.
ArtTalks is a three-phased project that begins with four bilingual presentations of monologues by four well-known Hispanic professional actors, followed by an open discussion moderated by a renowned Spanish-speaking actress between workshop artists and young participants. The second phase of the project consists of a subsequent selection of the 10 best artistic proposals from the young participants who had a 3-week period to develop their own work through personalized one-on-one coaching sessions with Conecta’s award-wining Artistic Director. Finally, the project culminated with a showcase of the workshopped pieces in a 2-day presentation that was open to the public and where local directors, promoters and producers were invited to witness our young Hispanic actors.
