Conecta Miami Arts has been selected to be the official Miami chapter of NYC’s Drag Queen Story Hour. Drag Queen Story Hour (DQSH) is just what it sounds like—drag queens reading stories to children in libraries, schools, and bookstores. DQSH captures the imagination and play of the gender fluidity of childhood and gives kids glamorous, positive, and unabashedly queer role models. In spaces like this, kids are able to see people who defy rigid gender restrictions and imagine a world where people can present as they wish, where dress up is real.
Conecta Miami Arts presents a special bilingual edition of Draq Queen Story Hour to celebrate LGTBQ Pride Month!!
Featuring Leonardo van Schermbeek doing storytelling in Spanish and the fabulous Missy Meyakie LePaige doing a reading of “The Bravest Knight Who Ever Lived,” followed by a special screening of Hulu’s animated series of Daniel Errico’s beloved book.
