Conecta: Miami Arts curated once again the programmatic activities for the International Children’s Day (ICD) at the 33rd International Hispanic Theatre Festival of Miami.
The ICD is an all-day event dedicated to children and their families so that they can enjoy several educational/artistic/entertaining activities in Spanish. We have an array of activities such as music, painting and puppetry workshops, arts and crafts, face painting, and finally the day culminates with a children’s theatre production for the entire family.
2:00 – 3:00 pm – Arts and crafts, rides, face painting and distribution of healthy combo meals
3:00 – 5:00 pm – Workshops: painting, puppetry, percussion & breakdancing
5:00 – 6:00 pm – Performance: El gato y la gaviota (The cat and the seagull)
The adventure of a baby seagull being cared for by four cats, and the commitment of one of them, to teaching her to fly, make this story a tender and moving family experience that not only addresses such important values as solidarity, unconditional love and the need to care for our environment, but also leads us, by way of the animal world, to serious reflections on human behavior. Adapted & directed by Neher Jaqueline Briceño; presented by Teatro Doble.
